Treatment (Final)

Treatment (Final) :

The beginning of our short film introduces our main two protagonists, a young boy and a young girl. The boy texts sends a text out prior to his journey saying “can’t wait to see you” following the girl sending out the text saying “meet me @ the park”. This then leads to the following day where both characters begin to embark on their journey. Nervously, both characters prepare themselves for their meeting; the girl double checks her makeup on the train making sure she looks presentable and the boy listens to his music to calm his nerves down.

The young boy then suddenly takes off his headphones and looks up at the diagram of train stations in a panicked and confused manner, as if he has lost his way. Meanwhile the young girl ends up missing her train and her mood begins to deteriorate. Finally the young boy gets over his trauma and gets himself back on track; he even goes to Oxford Street to buy an engagement ring for his love. Music begins to become more dramatic and intense suggesting something will happen soon. We then see two individuals at a park, showing close up shots of the two characters catching eye contact with another person on the platform. The music raised even further showing this next part will be a pivotal moment in the short film at this point. As the audience expects them to be looking at each other, we are then surprised to acknowledge that they aren’t. The male is then greeted by his girlfriend, a new character, and they smile and walk off together. The exact same occurs with the female, apart from the fact that she argues with her boyfriend and walks out of shot. The atmosphere then becomes calm again, as the story has reached his resolution. Both main characters have success as they have got where they had needed to; and the twist was that there was literally 'no connection' between the two.
